COBRA

COBRA is a federal law that requires employers with 20 or more employees to offer continuing coverage to individuals who would otherwise lose their health benefits.

If you are participating in the group Medical, Dental, Vision and/or Flexible Spending Plan when your employment ends, you and your eligible dependents will receive a notice within 21 days from your last day of coverage from WageWorks of your rights to continue your coverage under COBRA.

How To Enroll in Coverage

The completed election form and premium payment must be returned to WageWorks/HealthEquity to begin your COBRA coverage. You may also elect COBRA coverage online using the WageWorks COBRA website indicated below. As long as the election form and payment is returned by the deadline stated on the election form, COBRA coverage will begin on the first day after your coverage ended. See sections above for coverage end dates for each plan.

If you are receiving a severance package...

Your COBRA coverage will be paid by company per your agreement, however, you must still elect COBRA for your coverage to continue. The premium amounts may show when you elect, however, WageWorks has been notified that company will pay your COBRA coverage per your agreement.

Can I use the same insurance cards?

No. Once you have elected Cobra, you will receive new insurance cards in the mail.
